Design & Build Challenges
What can we engineer that did not exist on our block before?

What scholars do
Scholars take on open-ended design challenges rooted in their own neighborhood — a safer crossing, a cooler classroom, a cheaper water filter. They sketch, prototype, test to failure and iterate, learning that engineering is a loop, not a single answer.
Goals for the year
- Carry three design challenges per year from problem statement to tested prototype.
- Document at least two failed iterations and the redesign that followed for each build.
- Develop engineering identity: every scholar names themself as a builder by year's end.
